For urban users the time spent on Internet is now far more than time spent watching TV. Now, even TV content is viewed through Hotstar, Ditto and other apps.
2) Digital Marketing requires big budgets.
Actually, TV or newspaper ad requires big budgets. One can set up and start a SEM (Search Engine Marketing) campaign on Google AdWords or a Paid Social campaign on Facebook Ads for a budget as low as Rs.100.
Moreover, Internet provides great opportunities for Brand to gain popularity among users through “Free” Marketing. There can be a number of ways for this, such as a video going viral on Facebook or YouTube, a Facebook Page having engaging posts, comments on Instagram pictures, presentations on SlideShare, etc. Most importantly, a regular traffic to website comes from Organic results (shown just below Paid results) on Search Engines. Even though being free, this traffic can be built over a period of time and requires strategic and creative efforts.
3) I can’t see my digital advertisement. It’s a waste.
The most important power of Digital Marketing is that all the activities can be tracked, right from the advertisement being shown to the user (Impressions), to the user Clicking on the ad and then visiting the website, to Video Views, Downloads, Leads and Online Sales.
If you can’t see your ad, maybe you are not the target audience of that ad or maybe the budgets are too less to target everyone including you.
